How are you going with your home practice?
I am here to help! I would like to offer a two Zoom classes a week with ideas on developing your own practice.
The 2 classes each week will interlink. In the first class we will cover some poses and make ourselves a practice for the week. We will do this practice in class and make notes about the practice.
Then for the next couple of days you will work through the practice.
In the second class of the week we will go over the practice and any problems that you might be having with the sequences.
I will also endeavour to send you some reading material through the week.
The classes would be on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. I will record the class if you miss it or can't be there.
Can I suggest that the cost of the class is a tick on your card. For those who don't have a card the bank details are on the payments page.

5.45pm to 7pm - Wednesday evenings
These classes will start from the ground up to help you build a Yoga practice for yourself.
This class will cater for those new to Yoga.

Yoga on the Square was established in 2005 by Jyoteeka Cummings. It is based at Westside Chambers in the Square of Palmerston North. There are classes for beginners through to experienced students. Private sessions are available on request.
Jyoteeka is the principal teacher. She is a certified Junior Intermediate Level 3 teacher in the Iyengar System. She did her initial training with Peter Scott from Melbourne and she has also travelled to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family. Demelza Campbell is also teaching at Yoga on the Square. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.
At Yoga on the Square, the poses are taught in the tradition of the Iyengar system. They are done dynamically so as to make the body strong and supple. Instruction is given on how to align and fine tune the postures as this brings more energy into the body, as well as bringing focus to the mind. The poses, when done correctly, have various physical and psychological effects, improving health and maintaining an overall sense of well being.
Yoga is a process of self-transformation. The mind is engaged to develop awareness of and transform one's physical and mental state. The body, in the form of various postures (or asanas), is used as a tool to achieve this.
Please note, you don't have to be flexible to do yoga! You just need to have an open mind and a willingness to learn. Choose a course or class to suit your needs. Make every effort to attend regularly. Improvements will naturally follow.
