Join this class to learn alignment and the basic yoga poses.
In Iyengar Yoga, there is extensive use of Props such as belts, blocks, and chairs to help support the alignment of the body. The basics of using these props are taught at this level. Choose a class that you can attend regularly. Regular attendance will develop your understanding of the foundation poses so that you can start to experience the benefits of regular yoga practice.

This level is for students looking to grow their practice and expand the number of poses that they practice. This will include standing poses, forward bends, twists, and restorative and inversions.

Children’s Yoga Class - Wednesday afternoons
Best suited to children from the ages 7 to 12
We are happy to introduce a wonderful opportunity for our Youth of Palmerston North ages 7-12 yrs to join us here at Yoga on the Square.
With the increasing stimulation our youth are subjected to nowadays, it is such a gift to present the grounding experience Yoga has to offer.
This will be a fun, warm and comforting atmosphere for our youth to relax into an introduction of the arts of Yoga.
Our first class will commence Term 4 Wednesday 16th October 2024 3:45 - 4:30 pm and will continue every Wednesday afternoon 3:35 - 4:30 pm until Wednesday 18th December 2024.
Cost: $100 per student for Term 4.

Restorative Class - Friday Noon
Adults of all ages
Join this one hour class to rest and restore.
Many of us lead busy stressful lives at full speed…. and then completely collapse with exhaustion. We know that stress and health are inter-connected and our physical and psychological wellbeing is greatly affected by this stress/collapse dynamic. Most of us have very few life habits that encourage the balance between these two extremes. This balance point is the art of being relaxed and restorative Yoga classes teach us how to achieve this.
Restorative yoga classes are for anyone, regardless of age and ability, and are especially useful for people with health issues including symptoms such as pain and fatigue, as well as for people managing the physical and psychological effects of stressful lives. The classes will support health and wellbeing and will include quiet poses, deep relaxation, breath work and learning about support for the body’s health.
These classes will be small with individual teacher guidance, no experience is necessary, just wear comfortable clothes and all equiptment/props are provided.
Due to the small numbers in this class they will be available in 4 week blocks depending on demand.
$60 for 4 weeks ($15 per class)
Time : Friday 12-1pm

Each week you will receive a 90 minute practice recording delivered directly to your inbox. It is full of ideas for your home practice so you can freely work through it in your own time and space.
