It is with warmth and excitement I extend a notice and letter of summary for that which we will be exploring during our time shared together over the course of 6 offerings, once a week Wednesday for 6 weeks beginning 7:15-8.48pm Wednesday 13th March

Objectives for this course are to share

• ○  Pronunciation and accent of Te Reo Māori

• ○  How to read Te Reo Māori

• ○  Māori words and at times the stories and visions within these words

• ○  Tikanga Māori - Māori Protocol

• ○  Whakatauki Māori - Māori Proverbs

• ○  Introductory sentence structures

• ○  A pepeha format suitable for tauiwi (Non-Māori) that you are able to utilize to introduce yourself

  at events you feel aligned to express yourself in such ways Māori

• ○  Māori karakia and waiata - prayer and song

  This is a flow on course meaning should you miss a session, you are likely to fall behind and have gaps in your learning. Your commitment is required for your optimal progression.

  My passion and intention for us all is creating a safe space for a continuum of my ancestors’ desire to unfold, which is the conjoining of Māori and Tauiwi peoples under te korowai o te rangimaarie - the cloak of peace. A wonderful opportunity I see to make more of this happen is to share the parts of our world as Māori that lives on within me through our language, customs and world views.
